Mobile Phone Insurance Case Study
John Wright from Swindon purchased a Mobile Phone from a Major High Street retailer. He signed up to an 18 month contract with O2 costing £35 plus VAT per month.
This meant his commitment on day one of his contract was: £630 plus VAT. The handset he had would cost £389 to purchase at its unsubsidised price despite being offered for ‘Free’ when he signed the contract.
Originally he signed up to the Insurance offered in store, which cost £12.65 per month, this meant that after 18 months he would pay £227.70 on Insurance.
He then decided to switch to Loyal Insurance at £5.99 per month. This meant that after 18 months he would pay just 107.82 on Insurance compared to £227.70, saving £119.88.
